Appointments at St Peter's Surgery
All consultations are by appointment only. Appointment slots are for 15 minutes each for one problem only, if you require a longer appointment please advise reception when booking.
ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS
These are bookable up to 2 weeks ahead. Please tell reception if you would like to book with a preferred GP.
NOTE: If a GP is on annual leave all GP appointments for that week will be bookable on the day.
ON THE DAY APPOINTMENTS
These are available each day for medical needs which will not wait until the next routine appointment. It is recommended that you present at reception or telephone at 08:00 to book one of these appointments. Please Note: it may not be possible to see your preferred GP.
When you book an appointment for the same day, you will first receive a call back from the medical team, this will ensure that it is essential for you to come in and be seen face to face by a GP.
URGENT APPOINTMENTS
Please advise reception if you have a medically urgent problem and need to be seen that day, you will be given a Triage Telephone Consultation with the 'on call' GP.
If your problem is Life Threatening CALL 999 immediately.
Practice Nurses
Our Practice Nurses cannot Triage problems. Appointments can be made for:
- Chronic Disease reviews
- Vaccinations (including travel)
- Removal of clips
- Cervical smears
- Blood pressure
- Dressings
Healthcare Assistant
Our Healthcare Assistant can see patients for:
- Blood tests
- BP checks
- B12 injections
- Removal of stitches
- Hypertension Annual Reviews
- NHS Health Checks
- ECGs
Telephone Appointments
These are generally afternoon appointment slots available with a doctor for things that do not need a face to face appointment, however if the gp is available the telephone call may be earlier.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Patients who persistently fail to attend without notice may be removed from the practice list. Tel: 02380 438397
